Eight-year-old Hmong American twins Astrid and Apollo want to do something nice for their beloved neighbor, Great Uncle Cha, who’s coming home from a long trip. A welcome home party with plenty of yummy Hmong food is just the thing! Lots of planning, shopping, and cooking lead up to the big event, but when the day arrives, nothing goes right! Kitchen disasters, eye-watering smoke from overcooked spices, a noodle explosion . . . can Astrid and Apollo save the party?
